Concerning both substances within Innovair: Formoterol and Beclomethasone
The use of the new Protec’Som asthma spacer permits to avoid deposit of both active substances in the mouthpiece and above all in throat. This will limit some of inhaled corticosteroids’ side effects such as systemic absorption, hoarse voice, throat mucus.
In vitro pulmonary deposit studies show granulometric distribution of both active substances nearly equivalent.
Most of the time, thin particles left in deep lung area are in larger quantity when the new asthma spacer is used. Furthermore, this observation is increased during the test simulating inspiration flow of children.
This study leads to the conclusion that the new asthma spacer (Itinhaler) can be used by both adult and child patients without any preliminary detergent cleaning."
